VARIO - The answer for the future
Compared to other "stepless" designs, the Fendt Vario transmission stands out with its combination of true steplessness and unsurpassed profitability. Unlike pure hydrostatic drives, the Vario drive lets you work with a very high degree of efficiency - as high as that of a power shift. Independent tests have shown that Fendt Vario tractors use the least fuel and accelerate significantly faster.

With VARIO, the engine output is split into mechanical and hydrostatic sections by a planetary gear. The hydraulic branch controls the system. Both power trains are consolidated in the collecting shaft.
When starting, the major part of the engine output flows over the hydrostatic branch. Then, the higher the speed of the vehicle, the more the tractive power shifts to the mechanical branch.
Therefore, the complete travel speed from 0.02 to 50 kph can be covered by just 2 travel ranges.
